Their website says "free online nib pay" just they charge $one.50 for a convenience charge residential, $viii.fifty for concern. Trying to figure out where the "free" comes in. I tin't observe anything virtually it on whatever of their sites, nor can I become in touch with anyone who can answer the question.

I chosen in to ask most my Beginning pecker that it may be coming due and I have not received a neb. She kept request me questions about how I desire to pay the beak. I kept stating that "I Accept Not Nevertheless RECEIVED A BILL". I told her I am not calling to pay and that I NEED A Pecker SENT to me which is what I thought she would gather from me continuing to tell her that I practice not have one. She said, "Well one was mailed out." I said, "I do not have it." She said that I "need to take it upwardly with the mail service part". I said to her to please transport me a nib because I practice not have one. She said 1 will be mailed out and hung up. For some reason, I felt I need to call up. She did not annotation my business relationship nor was going to mail out a bill considering the bill needed to exist requested from another department. I wish there was some other company I could switch to. Sigh.

Tried a dozen times or more to gear up auto draft on their website. I have auto draft for a business account I have with them, and it works, notwithstanding they put all the accounts together. You accept to figure out which ones are or are not on automobile draft. And one was non on automobile typhoon so I tried multiple times online to add it over multiple months and information technology would non work, kept giving an error. Finally called. It took the rep 2 or 3 times to get it on there, or and then I idea. She apparently could not become information technology added either. The neb comes over again this month, non-payment fifty-fifty though it was fix on auto draft and more belatedly fees added. I will exist getting my belatedly fees back, and reporting them and their crooked mode of doing business organization everywhere I tin can. They are the worst, if you are because buying a house and they are your electrical company, exercise non purchase the firm.

They have some of the highest rates in the country, had billions in acquirement in 2016 and are publicity traded, corporate greed company with a CEO that probably makes millions. This is a for profit company that is not state run, or regulated. They can accuse y'all any corporeality for electric. Simply run from them or you will pay more for electrical than you could have ever imagined. Not to mention late fees, from their horrible arrangement that does not allow you to add your bank account, spend hours on the phone trying to get issues corrected. I had no problems with Progress Energy for 13 years, until Duke bought them, and so it was nada simply problems. If there is a Hurricane and they are your electric provider, be set to exist without power for a calendar week or more and then get charged Hurricane recovery charges past them for years. Practice any you can and avoid them. FPL and OUC rates are considerably less!

Final calendar month I received my electric bill for $87.42. I was a couple days late sending it and sent them $90. I get my current nib that's now stating I owe $256 and are threatening to disconnect me. They're all of a sudden claiming I didn't brand a payment on December 3rd when I in fact did. I take the bill in front of me stating that money was credited to my account and the balance is zero. I used their same solar day pay on December 3rd and I'thousand 100% positive my account had sufficient funds. It says it was returned December 13th even though I used their aforementioned 24-hour interval pay and I have a beak in my face stating my account at Duke was credited for that amount.

I call the 1 800 number and spoke with a woman named Glynn. When I tried to tell her that I have a neb stating it was paid she literally argued with me and tried to call me a liar and was very unprofessional. If I didn't pay information technology, then why wasn't it on the last bill? Not 2 bills later. I literally take something proving it was paid. No supervisor was available to speak with me supposedly and she took her sugariness time emailing a callback and was apartment out rude and disrespectful. Why try to debate with cold hard proof? I asked who else I could speak to and she said nobody and I had to request a supervisor. Sounds like I need a lawyer!!! As well, if their site states information technology's literally same twenty-four hour period pay, why did they attempt to supposedly get it 10 days later and then send me a bill stating it was paid!

It's non just me. Anybody I know and quite a few people on social media, are making it a betoken to cut back and try to conserve simply the pecker merely goes upward and up and... In my specific case, I cut my breakers off and exit for the 24-hour interval. However my bill goes up. So I practise without heat, you lot tin see your breath inside my business firm because I tin't afford my energy bill, and STILL my bill goes up. The pecker goes up month after calendar month since I moved in. When I am there, it's i light seedling, t.v. and fridge- that'due south it. It's a very small place. But despite that my neb QUADRUPLED in one month with no signs of slowing downward. They are blatantly stealing from me and quite a few others. At that place is cypher I tin can do??? From what I gather it's a common trouble.

I even tried to get thru to corporate headquarters in Charlotte. Nil but recordings. This is absolute **. I judge when you lot're a monopoly and the consumer has nowhere else to go. I have been with Duke for over a year and they randomly decided to charge me a deposit fee of 350.00 on top of my regular bill. They make it difficult for you to view your bodily neb. They make it hard for solar console owners to receive accurate bills. This company does what they want without having to answer to anyone. Horrible service.

The worst! It takes me twenty minutes to pay my trivial $50 to $70 dollar bill every calendar month! Can't ever do it online. The app is useless. Then when I call after resetting my password every time, they ask you lot the same questions over and over threatening that if you don't pay the $56 dollars your electric will be cut off. Like calm downwards!! Make information technology easier for me to pay. Hate this visitor.

I'grand a furloughed federal employee correct at present through TSA. NOT GETTING PAID But STILL Have TO GO TO WORK. I called them and talked to a rep, then a manager, telling them I am not getting paid and if they could do anything for me. They told me my options are to break it downward into 3 payments (lots of help that will exist with no money) or call 211 to become some aid from someone. They WILL NOT aid fifty-fifty though I would pay it ALL once the shutdown is over. I have never been late for payments. Basically if the shutdown lasts months I will take no electric and my credit volition take a hit. A very understanding patriotic company. God bless the Usa.

Nosotros got Duke Energy for the first fourth dimension when we moved to a new state and bought a new house. Nosotros set up automatic payments through our checking account. Fast forward, we realize they hadn't taken coin out in 2 months, and the online organization wasn't recognizing our information. Nosotros contacted them and they said they had close off our service (without notifying us) and that we were under investigation for putting "jumpers" to steal electricity, and needed to back pay 2300 dollars, which they "estimated" by the pecker of the previous family unit of 6 who lived here (I was hither alone). I said the meter was never touched, that I was never notified of any of this, and still had electricity.

They (Lee) rudely said that the amount was non negotiable, and that zip I said would change anything. She said they had constitute the jumpers on the electric pole when a repair was made due to a tree. Well I was there that day watching and they never found a affair. Plus they continued to bill me and said nothing of it. I tried to explain and she talked over me louder and louder and was apartment out rude. She said I should have had a canton inspection after the tree fell on the line in my neighbor's grand. What???

So, I asked to speak to a supervisor, who so told me they found jumpers behind my meter at a later appointment than the tree incident (some other alter in the story), and that they removed my meter at that time. I tried to explain my meter was never tampered with and never removed. Nosotros got a cheque in the post (leftover from deposit) with no explanation. At no point did anyone say our service would be ended. After some back and along, me repeating over and over that they were incorrect, I told them they must have me mixed up with someone else, and that I don't listen back paying a fair corporeality if a error had been made, but that their story was all over the place and they needed to get it directly kickoff.

NOW, I just realized that the meter number on my bill does not match MY meter number, in fact no neb I always got has the correct meter number or readings. And so they accused me of stealing electricity on a meter that isn't even mine! This is AFTER I read them the numbers on my meter, and so they knew it was the wrong meter and they however continued to accuse me. Twenty-four hour period after Christmas, shaking, stressed, horrified at these horrible accusations, but to observe out that the bill was incorrect the whole time. According to them it is my responsibility to make sure they are charging me enough. I was decorated doing repairs on my new business firm and did not pay attention to the pecker which was coming out of our account. We never thought they would have it so wrong.

Lesson learned. I tin can be agreement well-nigh the bill mix upwardly. But the fact that I was treated rudely, they would non listen to what I was trying to tell them, and that they thought they terminated my service with ZERO alarm is Not ok. I had to repeat that my meter was never removed like viii times. I thought they had to notify you if they terminate service. Luckily they messed up and it wasn't my meter that got disconnected. I too thought I would be notified if they thought my meter was tampered with, not accused out of the blue. I found out all of this today. 2 months afterward they thought they shut me off with no discover. Wrong meter, dummies! I hope this upshot is resolved, but it won't excuse what they already did. They have no thought what they are billing or doing. They refuse to electronic mail back and forth because and then in that location volition be proof of what they say.

On November 14th I gear up a payment of $289.04 to be drafted on either 19th or 21st. Information technology had to exist paid by the 21st did avert disconnecting. Come the 26th they asunder our power considering they never drafted our payment. I and then had to pay $560.eighty to get my power back on. I and then logged into the account to delete the payment of $289.04 so I wouldn't get charged again. It was gone. There was nothing at that place showing that scheduled or awaiting payment.

Well then yesterday I got an email thanking me for my payment. I did not schedule one. Every time I call I get a unlike story. "You lot logged in on the 19th at 2pm and scheduled it." No I didn't. I was at work from 11am to 8pm and never used my telephone. They won't give the money back. I called back and spoke to someone else. They told me I logged in on the tenth of Dec and edited the payment. No I did not. I wasn't going to make a payment for December since you screwed me over in Nov. They won't give me the money back. So they have gotten me for $849.84 since November 26th!!

We know and they know how to keep us depended on the high cost of electric. Nosotros could save money and not accept to produce whatsoever more power plants. Duke Energy knows and have installed 5 horsepower limit on your electrical service to your abode. Why? Then y'all cannot install a electrical motor to run a generator to service your home. They know y'all can produce your own energy cheaper and not going to let you. The cat's out of the bag at present. Watch the truth. If we all had 5 horse motor to run our own electrical generators we would have enough power to shed the extra into the grid. Limiting the need for additional power plants. Information technology's scam. Why would we put upwards with information technology? And then I am ready to kickoff the plan, I got $1100.00 electrical pecker for 1 month to heat my 80 ten xx blockhouse. The new electrical meter went from $300.00 to $1100. Meters are a scam.

I fabricated my payment on time. My electric gets cut off. I call customer service. They claim they have no payment. I called the bank and they see that the payment was made. I called to speak to a supervisor whose proper name is Ryan. I explained to him my situation. He said I would have to get to my depository financial institution to get a letter of the alphabet proving it came out of my account. Since; my fiancé has my machine, I can't do that. So I had to brand some other payment to become my electric turned dorsum on. Now; I'll have to go to my bank tomorrow to get proof. Email it to Duke Free energy and expect for a refund check to come dorsum to me inside 3 weeks. Unbelievable!

Then I've fabricated my payment on time. It's been deducted out of my depository financial institution account. Duke Energy cuts off my electric. I've had to make some other payment. Wait on my electric to be turned back on and wait iii weeks for a refund check! Nice visitor! All along he was telling me peradventure I didn't include my return slip or I wrote the wrong account # down. I explained to that idiot; then how did the payment come out of the correct bank business relationship? They're geniuses over at that place at Knuckles Energy!

Dec the 3rd I set to make my December upkeep. I log into business relationship, become to account summary, see my total residuum and due day. Screen shoot information technology, log it and noted it and moved on with my 24-hour interval. Total due 247.+ change. Due date is December 21st. Come habitation nine days later my power was off. Subsequently many calls and talking to reps bottom line, "That'due south not your due date. Yes that amount has your final calendar month'southward due and electric current balance but the date that shows is for your electric current remainder."

"Why is that?" I asked to the rep. "Well if we just had the current balance on there the people would presume that was the full residuum due and we would have to honor that." Exactly my signal. And then why not have the sooner due date on at that place. I understand I have a residue due. But when y'all log in and come across total due and a due date you accept all the info needed. Duke just wants your $50 and new depot from you.

I'thou a Single mother that does not receive any asst. from the state - believe hard work gets you lot thru. My daughter is at All Children's Hospital with severe heart problems. To the staff of Duke Energy that takes time to read my BBB - Follow up what is my current news and All Children'southward Hospital. The whole cardio team was let go to miss testament plains. So yes I know you send this out and that out ask did you lot get my email. I logged into my account thru my electronic mail. Saw want my business relationship summary total remainder & due appointment.

I'thousand not always on time with my payment. When you work part with a ill child on income in the house you make things piece of work out. Y'all practice not know how or when. But when I know I take a due date I've called and pay or ready a promise to pay. I asked rep on December the third when I logged in was my due appointment the 21st of December. Yes if your account was current. So if you a remainder that has a past due and electric current due should shouldn't that date read November 21st. Yes - rep confirms error.

I offered to have power turn back on with a promise to pay set for Friday December the 14th. Full amount plus reconnect fee. Reps are very rude - talk over you. Inquire to send electronic mail., "No. We cannot send emails." Asked to talk to IT. "Nosotros tin can't practise that." Asked to speak with a supervisor "You are talking to one". "No I'm not. I work for a telephone call center. Transfer me please." Yous get nothing. I go - we need you to sympathise you sit may not exist perfect. I can see why you are upset. So I sympathize you - only sorry we can't understand you. Your only op is to accept Duke Energy in the country of FL - and so if yous want power they do non care if y'all are happy or not. Y'all take no other Ops.

I have been a Knuckles Energy customer for well-nigh 10 years now. It'south non like nosotros can take our business anywhere else. We are forced to use Knuckles Energy if we want to have electricity in our homes. I pay every calendar month, a lot of times I pay late. My family and I struggle to brand payments towards our bills, only we e'er do. I have been up for disconnection before, and I know it is my fault that it gets this bad, simply when I call their and so-called customer service and talk with them, they tell me, "Too bad." They say that they have changed their billing policies and can no longer requite extensions to people on the economy stock-still billing.

I was asking for ane twenty-four hours, so they would non shut off my electricity in the middle of the common cold wintertime in Indiana 1 day before my payday. It's like they never schedule a disconnection on a Fri when 95% of people become paid because they want that extra money from the reconnect fee. Also, since I have had 2 consecutive disconnect notices, they experience the demand to charge me a 315$ security deposit. They did the aforementioned matter this time last year, so help me understand why I have to pay a 2nd security deposit.

So when their customers are having trouble paying their electrical bills what practice they exercise? They charge them more money. $300 dollars more than. If I have problem paying my bill, what makes you think I can add $300 more than to the mix. They are asking to lose customers. But their customer can't take their business elsewhere because at that place is nowhere else to go. We can only use Duke Energy. I thought monopolies were illegal. I guess at that place is a loophole in everything.

If yous are looking to buy a firm in Indiana, please check who the electric service provider is and buy a house somewhere else if it is Duke. You volition be overly disappointed with their services and client service department. Take my word and anybody else'southward, they are crooked, they are criminals, they do not care about their customers, they only care most those Benjamins. Run as far abroad from Knuckles Energy equally possible!!!

I double paid one month. Costing me to overdraft my bank account and had to get a greenbacks advanced. I called customer service to go the actress payment they received. They said it will take 2 weeks to get the bank check; however at present it has been a calendar month with no check in the mail. Now electric is due and I "owe". I chosen customer service. They just sent the check two days ago! Resulting in my payment will be late. Worse energy company ever! If information technology was going to take a month to go the money back and so I wouldn't take requested information technology! They don't care about timeliness and their customers. I have been a Duke Free energy client for many years. I pay my nib every month and always brand sure that the minimum payment was made. I am retired living on limited retirement check coming in every month at the beginning of the month. Today I arrived abode later on helping at our church and found my electrical has been close off. That ways no refrigerator, stove any lighting or abode telephone working. I am a senior living alone with 2 dogs on a very cold night in Pinellas Co. Where is the mindset of Duke Energy to exercise this? They know that I pay my bill every calendar month in the beginning of the calendar month when I get paid. I am sick about all of it. I feel like I have been hit with a hurricane past Duke. This could have been avoided... my records prove I pay every calendar month - by the third. Information technology is very cold out tonight... not practiced for me.

I was abroad from home 5 days (no one at domicile) in June 2018 & my utility bill was $60 more. Chosen the rep & told them I noticed they had installed a new meter. Confirmed that the meter was installed a calendar week before I left to go out of town merely it is ironic that my bill went up later on new meter was in identify. I spoke to reps & supervisor that claimed it could accept been my air condition. I told them information technology could not be because I had my Air conditioning serviced in May & I set my Air conditioning at 82 before I left home. I asked them to recheck my meter but I don't know if they did because they don't tell you when they are coming out to practise it.

Needless to say I still had to pay that higher bill. That merger with Progress Energy should take not been allowed because the rates are higher & keep to become upward with no one regulating them. Likewise, my utility stayed off iv days during the storm in September (notwithstanding high estimated bill) and I did not have as many outages when I was with Progress Energy. We need stricter regulations on Duke Energy charge per unit hikes or another utility provider that volition not ripping customers off.

As many have said here a joke of a company. Got this calendar month'southward bill. Twice what information technology was last year at the same time. Of form they used the more days in the billing bike. Not twice the days. Why. Twice the coin. Plus the fact they extend the billing bicycle so some may run over the 1000 kW level and y'all get charged more than per kW. Kinda kleptomaniacal business organisation. They started on the "well your A/C could be old and your water heater is sometime". Same thing I hear every time I call on a too loftier ability bill.

Would almost rather hear the truth out of them ("We tin accuse you what we want and you can't do a damn thing almost it"). I become mad every bit hell and pay information technology instead of existence lied to and screwed over. What my father would have said well-nigh this fashion of doing business would non be immune hither. Then over again these are the downfall of our country through business organisation similar this. I moved into a studio apartment. This is my 3rd calendar month. They told me I had a past due amount from 3 years ago and could non give me service till I paid that neb. And so I paid it in total. They told me I also had a credit from that pecker that went on the past due pecker. I told them I get social security and would have my due appointment set up on the first of each month. The sales rep said, "No trouble... Merely y'all will have a new deposit to pay 100. We volition divide information technology upwards in 3 payments 50 plus whatsoever your 1st month bill is." I get my 1st bill 100. I pay 100. Told them 50 for the deposit and 100 for the bill. 3 weeks later I go a disconnect notice proverb I defaulted on my agreement. At present I owe 200... This is my 2nd beak. I asked how did I default. She stated information technology has to exist paid by the 29th which is 3 days before my check... Hummm.

So Duke knew I would get a cheque on the 1st simply would default me 3 days before I get a check. They smart. That's how they drive those fancy cars. The 3 days will cost to restore service and on top of that late fees... Just sad how they practise people but when you buy all the power grids you tin can be the boss. Lady on a animate machine was close off... Families in ice storms shut off. I am merely glad I was able to pay mine. My light bill is more my rent. This morning time I reviewed my bill and noticed it was a swell deal more than what I ordinarily pay. Afterward reading through the "ebill" I was notified that I am existence billed a second security deposit for unsatisfactory payments. I have been a customer of Duke Energy for many years. I have never had a payment returned and forgot one time to pay my neb just still was never disconnected. This is a stick upwards considering the taxes I pay in addition to the climbing fees Duke Energy gets approved of each yr. What is nigh disturbing is they brand claim that if I make satisfactory payments I volition go my deposit dorsum.

They don't explain what determines unsatisfactory and don't detail satisfactory. If I pay belatedly forth with the late fee, the money is getting to the company. I tin't believe companies in the twenty-four hour period of customer experience is allowed to do this. I tin can't fight because at that place is no competition, Knuckles Energy is an oligopoly. This is unfair and deceptive practices. If banks are non allowed to charge unnecessary fees, how are we assuasive our electric resources to do and then?

And "considering they are committed to providing me with reliable power and outstanding client service", they only accuse you the maximum corporeality legally allowed for service charges and security deposits! If Florida had deregulated electricity, this visitor would be out of business in a heartbeat. Merely I guess since I have no choice in who provides my power and they take a monopoly, they literally don't have to anything to earn my business. A truthful, 1 star company.

Their vehicle was almost touching my sign with my phone number on it. Fortunately my dogs were inside or THEY WOULD HAVE BIT SOMEONE!!! The lead guy I am assuming starts talking to me telling me what they are doing, I told him, "I don't care, why didn't you call my number? It is on the sign. What if my dogs were out?" I provided a number for anyone who needs on MY PROPERTY. I think it'south ridiculous out of all those grown adults no one took safety in consideration when coming to unknown dogs. And experience they can come and go as they please. I filed a complaint with customer service where the offset representative said they can do it. My married woman called and spoke to some other who got a supervisor who said we can call the cops if they do it, again that it was trespassing. We will telephone call authorities if this happens over again.

We take been on Duke Energy EPP for several years (no other choice). E'er paid on fourth dimension. Of a sudden they desire to up my payment $77 a month because we had i month that was a piddling high. Mind you we accept carried a credit every calendar month for the whole year which usually equals out. Called in September. Someone volition get back with me. Called 4 times in October to hash out. Nope. Called one more time on 10/22/2018. Was told in August we were higher than normal and they would demand to adjust the amount. SAY WHAT! I month and and so I have to pay an actress $924 for a year. We carried a credit all year i. This is amazing. The lady I talked with says there is NO phone line into the area I needed to speak with to dispute this. And then our options were to pay it $299 a month or go off the EPP. Really. Thanks Duke for non talking to your loyal customers.

I have been attempting to abolish my service for a few weeks at present, and each time run into issues. The commencement time they wouldn't exercise anything because my wife called, and she wasn't "authorized." Side by side I've been attempting to telephone call, merely considering I'k generally working during their business hours I constantly miss them. I tried to practice it online, and it doesn't seem to requite you the ability to practise so. At present I'm going to end upward paying for about xv days of service that we weren't even around for, and that's if I can actually get a concur of them being that they're not bachelor on the weekends. This is just one of a few different things that accept made this company and then difficult to piece of work with. Not that the next company volition be much amend, merely I'm thankful we no longer will need to deal with Duke Energy.

When evaluating utility expenditures on a holding my family rents (nosotros pay the utilities every bit stated in Lease) I noticed Duke Energy stopped auto-drafting (we did not end car draft). My sister, the bill payer, was going through a separation and no longer had a calculator simply knew Knuckles was drafting from our bank account so she thought bill being paid.

I called D.Due east. to inquire and Client Service transferred me to Free energy Protection. She said they would be sending a technician out. That afternoon our unmarried mom with two young children called to say the power was off. I chosen Customer No Service back. Later explaining loudly what happened I asked to speak to Energy Protection - "closed". I and then asked to speak to a Supervisor and was refused. The next morning I chosen Free energy Protection and loudly explained the Unfair and Unjust activeness they had taken.

They are the ones who inverse the meter Aug. 2017 (said information did not match) and they are the ones who stopped drafting payments. And they could not seem to grasp the simple thought that one, the tenant does not pay the bill so no need for her to steal power; two, I am the ane that called them! If I wanted to steal power why would I call them? Of course all her food in refrigerator ruined. I take had to pay for hotel room considering cold at night this week! I had to pay $758 in "theft fees" to get power back on. It has been a week and considering information technology is Friday 4:xxx and they say "scheduled to set meter today"- non looking too good!

We have not lived in our firm for months because of a task transfer yet our power bill is extremely high. They assume someone lives there so they are trying to get abroad with padding the beak to pay for their new nuclear ability plant. Their dept heads have been told to squeeze every penny they can from anywhere they can find it so this is why they will try to tack on unjustified belatedly fees, plough your power dorsum on fees if you are couple of days late on a payment, anything they tin practice to steal actress money from clients since the consumer has no other source of ability.

This is what happens when in that location is no competition, if then they would be out of business tomorrow. They are an arrogant group of Fatty Cats that laugh at their hostages, not customers. But google the lawsuits from customers (hostages) they take pending. This is what happens when a company monopolizes a segment of consumer products and is exactly why we have monopoly laws. Their lobbyist control our politicians with entrada donations. Pitiful Florida. Y'all are a bunch of suckers for assuasive them to swindle you.
